Life is far too short not to indulge in what brings our taste buds pleasure. If you need an excuse (unlike myself) to indulge in chocolatey goodness, I say: Let February 14th, be the day!!
I’m excited to share some out-of-this world Chocolate and Peanut Butter recipes from PeanutBureau.ca on CHCH Morning Live. Peanuts are loaded with plant protein, healthy fats and fiber. Combining peanut butter and/or peanuts with dark chocolate, not only satisfies your sweet tooth, but actually does your body some good!
DYK: Dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa content), like red grapes, blueberries and black and green tea, is packed with flavonoids, phytochemicals with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-clotting properties. Numerous studies have hinted that dark chocolate may play a role in heart health by lowering blood pressure and reducing cholesterol levels. Just one serving of peanuts (1/4 cup/60 mL) is a source of 13 vitamins and minerals. Recent research shows that eating peanuts in moderation can help to keep your heart healthy. They contain oleic acid, a heart-healthy source of unsaturated fat and are naturally 100% cholesterol-free.
Okay, Okay, enough of the good-for-you info…now time for some chocolatey bliss!!
